Deviled Crab

From the Kitchen of: Ann Breazeale

Comments: This deviled crab recipe has been passed down for generations.

Materials

  • One pound lump crab meat
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tube Ritz crackers
  • 1/2 bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 eggs

Directions: Place crab meat in bowl with Ritz crackers and bell pepper. Lightly toss by hand. Do not break crab meat. Add ketchup. Toss lightly by hand again. Mixture should begin to clump together. Add two eggs. Mixture should be the consistency of ground beef. Make the mixture into patties. Place each patty on a cookie sheet, place a pat of butter on each, and bake on 325 for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

    Tip:

  • If patties are too moist, sprinkle extra Ritz on the bottom and top to keep patties together.
  • Re-fill crab shells (cleaned) with deviled crab for a fun twist on this recipe.
