A male crab is a "Jimmy"

A male crab (aka "Jimmy") is easily recognized due to the brilliant blue tips on their claws. You can tell the difference between a male and female crab by looking at the underside of their shell. Males will have a pencil shape design (skinny, vertical orientation) and females will have the apron design (wide, triangular orientation). The apron on a Jimmy will look like an upside down "T".

Jimmies are great to use for steamed crabs and crab pickins'.
